Shipping Policy, Freight Charges, and Furniture Delivery

1. General Delivery Methods

We utilise a combination of couriers and specialist furniture removal companies to deliver your items anywhere in Australia. The method used depends on the size, weight, and fragility of the consignment.

2. Small Items (Satchels, Materials, Art)

For materials, kimono, obi, and small dinnerware items, we use courier satchels. Shipping is charged based on weight and volume at the following rates:

  • Standard Satchel Rates: $14.95, $19.95, or $24.95

  • Note: Regional Areas may incur higher charges.

New Zealand Satchels: We now ship satchels to NZ at $23 per kg (minimum charge for 1 kg).

3. Standard Freight Charges (Category 1–6)

For furniture or large consignments over 1m³, we recommend using a specialist furniture removalist. The prices below are approximate starting quotes and are subject to change. Please contact us for a quote based on your specific items and delivery address.

5. Important Delivery Conditions

Transit Time Estimates: These figures are estimates based on what our carriers quote. We do not guarantee delivery within that window, as many unforeseen factors can affect delivery times.

Authority to Leave (ATL) & Redelivery: Consignments sent without an Authority To Leave may be subject to a re-delivery fee (typically $33 payable to Japanache) if no one is available to accept the goods or if the courier cannot gain access. We can only request a call or text to say the delivery is on board; we cannot guarantee notification of their exact approach time.

Removalist Delivery Conditions: Delivery will be made as soon as possible with our removalists. Japanache pays a standard door-to-door charge. Any further charges due to bad access, specific delivery times, or apartments without lift access may incur additional fees payable by the customer to the removalist at the time of delivery.
