Authentic Antique Japanese Kyodai & Kagami (Vanity / Dressing Table)

The Kyodai is the name given to the small vanity, or dressing table, traditionally used by Japanese women to store jewellery and cosmetics. By the beginning of the Meiji era (1868), the Kyodai was incredibly popular across all levels of Japanese society, resulting in large-scale production of a variety of beautiful styles throughout the Meiji and Taisho periods. These unique pieces, often including a mirror (Kagami), make excellent, characterful small tables or bedside accent pieces today.

Our Commitment: Every antique kyodai is meticulously preserved and never stripped, using our gentle Beeswax and Orange Oil finish to maintain its original colour and integrity. All pieces are professionally fumigated for secure import into Australia.
