Welcome to Japanache. We are Queensland's largest importer of genuine Japanese household goods and antique furniture, with a firm policy to prioritise products Made in Japan—not China. We import a wide range of products, and are Australia's largest importer of quality Japanese Futons and Tatami mats.

Our journey began in 2005 in Mittagong, NSW, before we relocated our operations to the Gold Coast, Queensland, in 2013.

Authenticity You Can Trust: We hold a Japanese Antique Dealer's License, so you can trust the authenticity of all our antique items. Nearly all of our valuable Antique Tansu and furniture are sourced directly from auctions around the Shiga, Osaka, Hyogo, and Kyoto prefectures. Our new items are sourced from the Shikoku, Kansai, and Kyushu regions.

Our Restoration Commitment: When dealing with our antique Tansu, our preservation commitment is key. We strictly avoid harsh stripping or staining, opting instead for traditional, gentle cleaning methods followed by our specialised Beeswax and Orange Oil treatment to preserve the wood's original colour and character.
