Authentic Antique Japanese Hibachi (Fire Bowls and Braziers)
The Hibachi (literally "fire bowl") is a traditional Japanese heating device, often referred to in English as a brazier. It has a distinctive cylindrical, round, or box shape. Historically, it was made from or lined with a heatproof material and designed to hold burning charcoal for warmth. These unique items originated as a functional necessity but became beautifully crafted pieces of art and furniture.
Today, Antique Japanese Hibachi are highly sought-after for their versatility and character. They can be turned into the most wonderful coffee tables or side tables (by adding a custom top) or used as large, unique planters (especially the ceramic versions).
Our Commitment: Every antique wooden Hibachi is meticulously preserved and never stripped, using our gentle Beeswax and Orange Oil finish (where applicable to wood) to maintain its original aesthetic and colour. All pieces are professionally fumigated for secure import into Australia.
